Laura Grist Interior - Month 1 - Blog Banner.jpg

As the founder and Principal Interior Designer at Laura Grist Interior Design INC., I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I wanted to start my own business so that I could explore the designs that I wanted to incorporate in a style that seemed interesting to me and would complement my client’s aesthetics. I have now been in this field of business for over twelve years. Prior to launching my interior design firm, I was a partner at another business for three years.

When I first started my business, I was doing everything! I was the office manager, and handled the IT, accounting and designing for my clients. It became pretty clear after the first year that I needed to fill those positions with other people in order to get back to what I love doing - design!

Now that I have other designers working with me, I am always excited to collaborate with them on projects. With the business growing from one person to three fantastic designers, an excellent decorator, and our trusted bookkeeping assistant, we are able to focus on clients and projects.

As a business, we are inspired by this quote: “To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift.” - Steve Prefontaine. We also believe in the phrase, “The buck stops here.” It is simple but true. If there is a problem, we are the ones to offer solutions moving forward.

Our business philosophy and values have helped us win the HAVAN (Homebuilders Association Vancouver) award twice. It was incredibly fulfilling to be recognized for our ideas, design and follow-through. I believe our excellent design and my winning personality have been the main reason the business has succeeded over the past decade.

When I’m not assisting clients, I love visiting my family and babysitting my grandchildren. The kids still enjoy their Nana singing to them, but I’m not too sure for how long!

I have also been involved with the Kidney Foundation for more than twenty-five years.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way we do business.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our expertise in residential design and renovation services in Port Moody, BC, I invite you to get in touch. Please visit my website at www.lauragrist.com

Sincerely,

Laura
