About Laura Grist Interior Design INC.
We are a design team that does construction drawings for new builds, renovations, and commercial properties. We have five people that work in the office on a regular basis, but we have found that operating remotely works well for us too. We work from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We even do some evening meetings by request.
We have been in business for the past twelve years and have been fortunate enough to attend design conferences in Las Vegas, Toronto, and Palm Springs.
Our areas of expertise include New Construction and Renovation, Concept Development, Space Planning, Construction Drawings, Materials Selection, Specification Packages, and Furniture and Window Coverings.
We serve clients across Vancouver, Burnaby, Langley City, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Walnut Grove, Belcarra, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, White Rock, and the surrounding areas.
We love to work in the lower mainland. Our sweet spot is the Tri-Cities, but we have made lots of trips from North Vancouver to Langley. We have some clients who have let us into their homes in Whistler as well as a private island in the Georgia Straight. If it is the right fit, we will always make exceptions.
We are typically busy year-round, with most people wanting to start either in January or Spring Break. Another high point is the summer when people can cook outdoors.
As a business, we are continually upgrading our equipment with the latest software and hardware. We are also constantly looking for new ideas in design, and to that end, we have countless online magazines that we subscribe to as well as regular pilgrimages to our suppliers to make sure we are keeping up to date with new technology in materials.

We specialize in providing custom home design and custom renovation services to suit the specific and unique needs of our clients. We believe every client has different needs, and we want to make sure all those needs are completely satisfied.
What sets us apart from others is that we can build excellent relationships with clients. In order for us to do the best work for clients, we need to develop a connection with them. As the founder and Principal Interior Designer, I work at building relationships with clients.
In the past twelve years, we’ve been awarded the Interior Design Studio of the year twice in our community. We have also been recognized for excellence from HAVAN twice.
While receiving these awards have been incredibly gratifying, what I am most proud of is the people that I’ve hired. I literally can’t say enough about them. I am beyond blessed!
All of our interior designers hold a Diploma of Interior Design. Most are graduates of the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). We are all required to do AutoCAD and several other programs to make sure we are following the best business practices for interior designers.
My team and I are a very close-knit group and we constantly text and chat, even on the weekends. We often travel as an office on an all-expense trip to a design show. Our next trip after COVID ends will be to Spain to a distributor of stone products.
As a business, our dream for the future is to continue serving our community.
While we are really passionate about what we do, we also care about protecting the environment, and so we offer green products to clients who are interested.
I also personally work with the Kidney Foundation and have been doing so for the past twenty-five years.
